Steven Heyer hails from Lawrenceville, Georgia and was born to parents Ron Heyer and Glenda Heyer in January, 1984. The 28 year old footballer started playing the game during his freshman year and by then we has already 230 lbs and 6 feet tall. By the end of his senior year, he was 6 inches tall, weighed 100 lbs & had developed perfect physique for a national level footballer. He wore big size 22 shoes. He started at the left offense-line during his school days and looking at his very impressive and consistent performance many colleges were interested in him, including Arkansas, Michigan and Florida.

Out of various options that Steven Heyer had, he decided to go to Maryland, where he graduated from, and procured a degree in criminal justice. Without compromising his academics, the footballer continued to play excellent football during his college time. By the end of college, he had already made his presence felt by dominating over fifty games. He finished his studies in 2006 and then played in Hula Bowl 2007, where his performance in the prestigious game captured the attention of all the top NFL teams.

In 2007, he was picked by Washington Redskins as one of their undrafted agents and he continued there till 2011. In August, 2011 Stephon moved to Oakland Raiders, an NFL team that signed Heyer for a respectable $1.7 million. During May, 2012, the athlete was picked by New York Jets.

Behind all this quick success was strong determination of a woman who did not leave any stones unturned in shaping Stephon’s career; she was no one else but the footballer’s single parent, Glenda Heyer. She even hired a personal trainer who honed his skills at the right time and prepared him well for national level games. Above all, it was Stephon Heyer’s sheer determination and passion for the game of football is what really has made him the role model for young footballers and NFL aspirants.
